2012 QSL Draw Released
Friday, 03 February 2012
The 2012 Queensland State League draw has been announced and round one is sure not to disappoint with plenty of action to kick off the season!
Round one will kick off with an exciting M1 match up between Brisbane Strikers and Gold Coast Stars with the latter sure to be pushing for a repeat of the last game between the two teams that saw them come away 1-0 victors.
Also in action on the Saturday will be Bundaberg Spirit who will take on Capricorn Cougars. The battle for the three points will be fierce between these two teams, both of which will be desperate to be rid of their 2011 moniker ‘cellar-dwellers’.
Round one also sees the battle of Northern Queensland reignite between the North Queensland Razorbacks and FNQ Bulls in Mareeba. Confidence will be on the Bulls’ side having claimed bragging rights with a 4-2 win on their last meeting and the Razorbacks will be eager to wipe the slate clean with a win of their own.
The weekend’s action culminates with the Whitsunday Miners travelling to the Sunshine Coast to take on 2011 Champions’ Fire. Revenge will be on the cards for the Miners who won’t have forgotten their loss to the Fire in last season’s Finals’ Series, just one game short of the Grand Final.
The Queensland Academy of Sport will have the Bye in the first round.
The 2012 season also sees the introduction of ‘Results Vault’ software to the QSL website. Results Vault allows for a more interactive football season with up to date results, ladders and statistics. Results Vault can generate leading goal scorers, substitutions, bookings and other information about a specific game or the league in general.
